The Garota do Calhau (Girl of the Pebble) collection by Madeira-based architect/designer Nini Andrade Silva is inspired from the rolling pebbles of Madeira Island. The Sun Pebble Sensation Sofa from the collection features a structure made by fiberglass or aluminum and coating in synthetic rattan. The price for this sofa is €8,600 (about $11,385), but part of the profit goes to the “Garota do Calhau” foundation.

Other pieces from this collection are the Pebble Table, Pebble Sofa, Sunlounger Love Pebble, Sunlounger Single Pebble, Sun Pebble Sensation, Chaise Lounge Pebble and the Modular Sofa.

Futuristic and comfortable dinosaur bone-like chaise lounge

The “Double” chaise lounge by Sand & Birch looks like a huge dinosaur bone, but is enhanced leather for a comfortable perfect unit. The ‘bone’ has a polyurethane structure, covered in genuine soft leather, and edged along the sides with big leather seams.

She approached the outdoors starting from the theme of woven patterns. This collection is suitable for outdoors and gardens, but it can be integrated successfully indoors as well.

Revolving lounge chairs

Designer Åke Axelsson created this set of chairs, called Zenit for the swiss company Garsnas, that is available in

moulded ash or oak (natural or lacquer). The base plate is made of satin-chromed steel, and the upholstered seat is covered in fabric or leather inside and outside if you’d like so.

This would go nice in every lounge coffee or teahouse, seaside terraces and in modern home lounge rooms, why not, combined with a minimalist table in front of last gen TV sets.
