96 Million Plastic Balls Protect the LA Reservoir

Yep, you read that right! LA authorities dumped 96 million plastic balls in the city’s main water reservoir in order to protect the water quality against the sun rays that could trigger chemical reactions.
Why the shade plastic balls? Because it’s apparently way more cheaper ($34.5 million) than covering the entire surface with other floating materials (over $300 million).
